Organic Aubergine - Diamond *NEW*

£3.00

Solanum melongena - approx. 12 seeds

We have been growing these guys here in the highlands for several years now and have never failed to get a good crop. Well adapted to cooler/shorter summers, these compact and robust plants are early and prolific, producing lots of tasty dark purple fruits.

Originally from Ukraine, this variety was brought to the United States in 1993 by Seed Savers Exchange co-founder Kent Whealy.

Growing Info

Aubergines will do best when grown undercover in Scotland.  Sow indoors into small pots or seed flats using a heated propagator or sunny windowsill in Feb/March, no later than April.  Aubergines generally grow slightly slower than Tomatoes so should be sown slightly earlier if possible.  Transplant into larger pots once true leaves emerge.  Aim to transplant into final growing location after the last frost, ideally once night-time temperatures are up to around 10 °C.
