Seeds of Scotland
Organic Sweetcorn - Golden Bantam *NEW*
Zea mays - approximately 50 seeds.
A classic heirloom variety from 1902, Golden Bantam is prized for its deliciously sweet, tender kernels and reliable performance in cooler climates. Perfect for Scottish gardens, it grows well both outside (in a sheltered spot) and in polytunnels, producing multiple cobs per plant. We have even had a successful crop outside in the Highlands!
Growing Info
Sow indoors in deep modules in early spring and transplant after the last frost, or sow direct from late May. Harvest cobs once the tassels have turned brown.
Top tip: Plant in a block rather than a row to aid pollination.
