Organic Pak Choi- Prize Choi *NEW*
Brassica rapa subsp. chinensis ~ approx. 200 seeds
Prize Choi was the winner of our 2024 (the year of the slug) Pak Choi trials. It was a clear favourite of ours as the vigorous plants stood tall with large heads which were by far the most resilient to the onslaught of our slimy, hungry friends.
Prize Choi is slightly less compact and more open than many other Pak Choi's and produces mild and succulent snow-white stems with green, spoon-shaped leaves which are delicious, lightly sautéed in stir-fries. It prefers cool weather, but is slow to bolt in heat and is therefore well suited to early spring as well as autumn planting.

Growing Info
Sowing: A fast-growing crop which is well-suited to sowing in early spring and autumn for overwintering. Direct sow or into modules from March in the spring and in August/September in the autumn.
Spacing: 15/20cm
Harvest: May-Feb. Heads/leaves can be ready to harvest in 6/8 weeks.
Tips: Early and late sowings do particularly well as summer-sown crops may bolt due to hot and dry conditions. Cover young plants in insect mesh to protect from flea beetle (spring/summer). August/September sowings can be transplanted undercover to provide a crop throughout the winter.
Germination: 95% Feb 2025
