Organic Courgette - Syrian *NEW*

£3.00

Cucurbita pepo - Approx. 12 seeds.

A delicious courgette, bred in Syria by Future Seeds of Aleppo.  We received these seeds from Adam Alexander, The Seed Detective, who collected them during his travels in 2011.

"Unlike so many courgettes, this is very flavoursome with a high fibre content.  Delicious when eaten no longer than 15cms, grows and fruits over a long season.  What’s not to like!" - Adam

Growing Info

Best sown in pots in a heated propagator or on a sunny windowsill in April–May. Plants grow quickly, so avoid sowing too early—you’ll want to plant them out after the last frost. If you can’t plant them out straight away, be prepared to pot on as they grow.

Enrich the soil with well-rotted manure or garden compost before sowing or planting, and space plants about 90 cm apart. Courgettes thrive undercover and they also grow well outside in a sunny spot.

Top tip: For a longer harvest, sow an early crop undercover and follow with a second sowing in early summer for planting outside. Courgettes can be prone to damping off, so avoid overwatering young seedlings.
