Mustard Green - Green In Snow *NEW 2024/25*

£2.50

Brassica juncea var multiceps - approximately 300 seeds.

Green In Snow is a delicious spicy mustard green.  Fast growing and as the name suggests, very hardy and particularly suited to winter production. Leaves can be harvested when small to add to salads or allowed to grow to make a great addition to stir fries or soups. Peppery flavour when eaten raw which mellows when cooked.

Growing Info

A versatile fast growing crop which is well suited to direct sowing and overwintering.  Direct sow from March and successionally throughout the year until August/September. Alternatively, sow into modules and transplant at 15cm spacing. Small leaves should be ready to harvest in 30/40 days.

August/September sowings can be transplanted undercover to provide a crop throughout the winter.

Early and late sowings do particularly well as summer-sown crops may bolt due to hot and dry conditions.

Tip: Cover young plants in insect mesh to protect from flea beetle (spring/summer).
